The IMO is due to meet the HSE to discuss the implementation of the new NCHD contract, the terms of which officially come into force on February 8.
The IMO last week announced that 95 per cent of NCHDs who took part in its ballot voted in favour of accepting the new contract.
The new contract will apply to all NCHDs who either commenced employment or renewed their contract with the HSE on or after January 1, 2010.
Arrangements for NCHDs employed outside this timeframe who wish to switch to the new contract are understood to be still under discussion.
Speaking to IMN, IMO Senior Industrial Relations Executive Ms Shirley Coulter said that the Organisation had been very pleased with the ballot result but was now focusing on implementing the contract, particularly in relation to NCHD training.
A contract implementation group is now being set up, which will initially consist of HSE HR Director Mr Séan McGrath and IMO CEO Mr George McNeice, and will take representations and updates on contract implementation progress and teething issues.
