The headlines have been dominated in the last couple of months by the dangers of so-called legal highs and head shops – in fact, rarely has an issue galvanised such widespread support across so many divides. Parents, doctors, politicians, youth groups etc., have all voiced concern at the rapid growth in such shops around the country and the obvious health dangers these legal highs pose.

 

We need to openly and honestly deal with those who suffer at the hands of doctors

It is hard not be moved by the tales of those who have suffered at the hands of the health system which have dominated the media in the past couple of weeks.

The HSE last week published its 2010 National Service Plan (NSP) which outlines the toughest budget and service delivery targets the Executive has ever had to achieve.
